Miami Mayor Writes Letter to Bud Selig Asking Him to ?Look At? Marlins Mega-Trade

The Marlins are not only the laughingstock of baseball right now, but people in high places aren?t too fond of the team, either.

On Thursday, Miami mayor Tomas Regalado sent a letter to Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig, imploring him to ?look at? the pending Marlins-Blue Jays mega-trade, and ?act in the best interests? of the people of Miami. The letter specifically mentions a 2007 when Regalado met with MLB representatives and discussed the city?s funding of parking structures adjacent to the ballpark.

No doubt the local community is feeling swindled by the Marlins and owner Jeffrey Loria after the team cast off all its high-priced talent. The city and Miami-Dade County are on the hook for about 80 percent of the new Marlins Park, which projects to $2.4 billion after interest is compounded.

Check out a copy of Regalado?s letter to Selig below.
