Rain May Force Obama Inside for Thursday Night Speech

Possible thunderstorms in Charlotte may force President Obama to deliver his acceptance speech indoors on Thursday, a campaign aide said.

The president is scheduled to speak at the Bank of America outdoor football stadium, but may have to speak in the Time Warner Cable Arena, campaign spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter said on Monday.

?We're still hopeful we can speak in the stadium,? she said on MSNBC?s Daily Rundown. ?We've got tens of thousands of people from all over North Carolina and the country traveling here for that, with enormous enthusiasm for it. But we always knew this could be part of the plan. We'll make a call sometime in the near future about whether to move it indoors.?

Weather Channel five-day forecasts say there will be scattered thunderstorms throughout the day on Thursday, with a 40 percent chance of rain. The weather is supposed to clear up that night, with a 20 percent of rain.

Rain has already affected political conventions this year, as Tropical Storm Isaac forced Republicans to shorten their convention to three days for safety concerns.
